We created Farm CPA Today to provide farmers and people associated with all types of farming with ways to improve their businesses.

Paul grew up on wheat farm in Washington state and owns a corn and soybean farm in Missouri with a partner who farms it.   Each fall Paul goes to Missouri to drive the John Deere STS combine (much nicer than the IH 453 he drove in his teen-age days).

My partner Scot and I operate a CPA practice and tax-deferred exchange business that has many farm clients.  We try to implement business and tax planning to help our farmers and other businesses.

Although many of the issues facing the farm industry these days are financial, we believe that all aspects of farming are just as important, so we talk more than financial issues here.

Making the right production decisions can be more important to the bottom line than buying a new combine. We try to help create awareness about the big-picture considerations as you make operational decisions and to pass on other interesting thoughts and ideas that you might implement.

We welcome your feedback and appreciate all of your comments. We will read all of them and would appreciate the opportunity to correspond with you.

Farming is one of the few businesses where each year you plant, tend and harvest something while mother nature does most of the work for you. It is the oldest profession in the world and will exist long after other businesses go away. Farming is what makes America great and we’re honored to be a part of it by way of supporting the field.
